Brief Biography:
Christopher Sholes was born in Mooresburg, Pennsylvania in February of 1819. The invention of the typewriter gave a lot of women jobs, so you might say some women have him to thank for that. Once he grew to be a teen, he moved to the town of Danville. In Danville, Sholes worked as a printers assistant. After serving as a printers assistant, he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he became a newspaper publisher and even served on the U.S. Senate. Sholes died a few days after his birthday in 1890. He lived to be 71.
